LeicaImages is in the middle of a major revamp in order to draw more attention and keep you engaged.
Mobile version update:
- The mobile version which is still evolving is now more like instagram as far as UI is concerned and interaction goes. It has actually become my preferred way of visiting the site for now.
- You now have several Icons underneath the photos when scrolling through the site.
- The Heart represents likes with a counter next to it.
- The star represents a favorite. Solid star means, it is in your favorite, empty star means it is not.
- The comment bubble represents comments with a counter next to it. Solid icon means there are comments, empty means no comments
- Clicking on the comment icon, will display comments and allow you to add comments. Clicking on it again will close the comments.
- The Info icon will slide down info about the photograph. For example, views, date posted, camera used, lens used etc ...
- If you are logged in and it's your photograph, the info will also display Edit photo details and Delete photo.
- Clicking the info icon again or on another info icon will close the information area.
- Lastly and most important, is the addition of Share icons. Clicking on the share icon which is on the far right of the icons will display social media sharing icons such as Facebook, X formerly known asTwitter, Whatsapp and Reddit.
- There will be more shareing links added soon.
The sharing is so important. PLEASE !!!! , share when you can, it will make the site more popular and really help ! I wish I had done this from day 1.
Desktop version Update:
- Identical to mobile but, now when you click on the Info icon below the thumbnail, you get the details and comments along with those important share icons. Again, please share the links if you can.
Additionally,
- Eliminating unused features, Portfolio, Classifieds etc ...
- Aiming towards photos only.
- Leaving the message board since that is important and helps us communicate.
Whats next,
- Working on a hashtag implementation to better propagate and reach more of an audience when you post photos.
Finally, please report any issues encountered. I am not the best coder, I am a one man shop and it's what I can do on my own.
