I have been getting "9" for the last 3 times. The colour of the cube seems to blend well with the table colour. Just for fun; selective focus used to highlight the wood grain. Thank you.

I really like the composition and balance in this photo. The grouping of the people is just right as all faces are visible showing the fruits of their labor. However, This is not criticism of an excellent photo. But, I find the processing is lacking in some contrast or whites thus creating a dullish look. Was it the actual lighting condition that give this look or is there room to work with the whites and black in order to give it some more pop? None the less, its a great shot.

Thank you. Not easy to catch GM's gaze.

Thank you. It is nice to shoot in this kind of light. Enough to brighten up a bit without glare. Little else needs to be done. Just look at it.

Thank you. I like pictures to create a mood - successfully or otherwise. I was walking along a carpark, and thought the grill seemed to have encased the outside building in a peculiar way. I shot the pic for this reason. Nothing clever. Glad you like it.

Thank you. Why do they have to be so fierce? Not a happy life. May be, I am a bit B&W.

Normally I try to optimize focus, resolution detail etc. but with this image the idea was to produce a representation of the feeling of the jungle. So for the purists please excuse this "painterly" approach.

Johnlarson - Thank you for taking a look and commenting. It was 10 days of trekking to get up to the Annapurna Base Camp. Most of the trek is through beautiful tropical and sub-tropical forest until you reach 2500 meters then it turns into Alpine terrain without trees. This small village with its tea houses is typical along this route.

Using selective focus to zero in on the few stalks, dew drops and buds. Made them stand out but also seemingly more fragile. Glad that you like this. Thank you.

All are natural, taken at the Botanic Garden. A bit of sun came out at the right time to light up part of the wall, Thank you. The designer had given some thoughts to it too.

Nice. Must be focusing quite close to the spoon. Wonder how it would look on a fork.

I think selective focus made a difference here. Thank you.

A good color test pattern. Surprised they set them up so close together. Lots of flames and propane. What could go wrong!

Thank you. This is one of those occasions when the lighting, exposure had been done right and I had to do little (in this case, nothing) PP. Who took the pic? Ha.

Nice B&W - an ordinary scene made special by showing the kid comfortably at home.

Thank you. I had been first attracted by the leaves' layout; the lighting was natural. I knew, if I had used my hands to arrange anything, I would have messed it up. Leave leaves alone.

I am amazed how much can be expressed by a few brush strokes. This is on the wall of a walkway. Michalengilo at least put his on a tall ceiling. Thank you.

Judging from the immediate anger, the female hand in the lower right corner mayn't necessarily belong to his wife. (But then, of course, it isn't very polite to point a camera at someone in a setting like this)

Lovely capture, and...the old D-lux 4 stil amazes in the right conditions. I now own as well the XVario with its amazing lens, but the D-lux is the one I pick most of the time. You do superb work with it. Best wishes Sol
