I like the Sigma because they are smaller. Also have the TTartisans 75mm F2, which is great, and 2 M mount lenses Minolta M Rokkor 40mm F2 and the Voigtlander 75mm f1.8 Heliar Classic. I will let you know how the 24-105 works out

Let me know how that works out. I thought about the sigma 24-70 which I believe Leica just rebrands. Anyway, can't wait to start shooting with it. It will leave me torn between the M and the SL. But, the EVF is amazing.

I like the SL alot. I have the Sigma Contemporary 45mm and 90mm. Just got the Lumix S 24-105 today. Hopefully it will stop raining so I can go try it out.

I see you have been a long time user of the SL. How are you liking it? I just picked up an SL3-S and am waiting for the 35 APO SL to arrive next week. I do have M lenses and the M to L adapter but have not really had a chance to shoot it. Been busy painting the house. One of those honey do projects. My goal is the 35 and 75 SL and the rest M lenses. What are your thoughts on that?

JT, Wish I would've got into the Leica system beginning in 2025 +.

When I purchased my SL, being very new to market, even the look of the camera body made people cringe. I loved it, but back then post-sale followup was almost non-existent if you needed quick turnaround.

Before Leica-anything I shot Canon. As a then loyal CPS member, I could literally drive about 90 minutes to a midwest Canon depot, and retrieve a repair a few days later. I miss that kind of post-sale support. NOT Leica's fault, they can't compete with Canon's backend support volume.

.And I agree, used "anything" has gone thru the roof.

Thanks for the reply. I have been leaning towards the SL 75 since I already have a 90 for the M. Having said that, I had one years ago and regret selling it. Now that the SL is more popular and repairs can be done here in the states it make sit more attractive. But BOY ! used prices are insane these days.

I do have an opportunity on a 35 SL for a good price. But I really love the 75 focal length.

Sorry, I completely missed your inquiry about the 75!

As enjoyable as the M lenses were, the level of concentration required to maintain accurate focus (especially wide open), focusing a tele M-lens would make my head hurt! Currently, using late model AF lenses from any source, my hit rate for good focus is very close to 100% I'm even shooting the x2d 100C II and for PR, have zero issues with focus.

IF you require a high % of in focus images in a fast-paced environment, I'd stay with the 75 SL. Either lens, SL or M will give you exemplary image quality. But if you need speed with accuracy, you will be better off with the SL lens IMO.

Hello JT: After selling the M9, I purchased the M240 and 1st. gen SL. Initially I shot the SL with my M-mount lenses, the Summarit 70, the Summilux 35, a Zeiss Biogen 21, and a Zeiss 50. I LOVED all of the M-mount lenses.

Had some repairs needed for both the 70 and 35. Even though the repair depot was a UPS 2-day trip, the time in the shop I felt was excessive, at 6 to 8 weeks. Loved the SL but for a lot of my shooting, I planned to buy the (at the time) 2, SL zooms, a pricy proposition to say the least!

Because the SL was new to the market, Leica told me IF any SL lens needed repairs, they'd have to be shipped back to Germany! How many months would I be without gear I needed to make money with?

That was kind of the last straw. Sadly, I sold everything to a reputable Leica dealer in Chicago and went to the dark side.

If you're staying with M-mount lenses, you can't go wrong with the Summilux 35. Tack sharp, small and fast!

Pleased you enjoyed that image. Had a number of great shots from that gig.

Sadly, as much as I enjoyed the M9, M240 and original SL (with M lenses), I needed to back away from Leica for my commercial and wedding assignment’s. Hope to return at some point soon.

It is a great little camera, although it does struggle in low light. I'm tempted to trade it in if the rumored Q4 comes out.
