One of the few flowers in bloom at the Cohn Arboretum in Baton Rouge. Looked like they were tired of paying the water bill, even the drinking fountain was dry.
This cross was erected after the motel owner was found unconscious from a heart attack. He told he believes he was spared to complete his mission in life.
I drove past an old highway hotel, run down and 50 years past it's prime. This man's entire life is located on this little parcel that is now located in a very high crime and run down urban area. The building is covered with anti Obama signs. Although located in an almost 100% black and impoverished area, he manages to exist side by side with those who disagree with his views. I felt it very worth my time to stop and listen to his story.
In an area filled with crime, something caught my eye and I found this between two building. Quite happy people, I believe, have created a little magic.
