Album - Leica 75MM Apo Summicron M. The standard for all others

Album - Renders from the 50 Summilux Classic re-issue
JT
For years, I was a die hard disciple of clinical sharpness. My gear pursuit was simple, hunt down the most modern, highly corrected glass possible lenses engineered to resolve every single with absolute precision while still delivering a smooth, perfect bokeh.

I demanded flawless resolution like what the Zeiss 35mm Distagon ZM delivers, and thought that optical perfection was the ultimate goal for my photography.

Then, I tried the new 50mm Summilux Classic Line. It completely broke my framework and how I view rendering. Stepping away from clicnical sharpness of modernlenses, this lens reminded me what photography actually feels like when you prioritize personality over a pixel peeping. It didn't just change my mind, it entirely reframed how I see light and depth. I am now a firm believer in the power of that classic, unmistakable rendering and the following images show exactly why.

Project - The Amazing Zeiss 35MM Distagon ZM
JT
The Zeiss Distagon 35mm f/1.4 ZM is widely considered one of the absolute finest 35mm lenses ever created for the Leica M system. While it carries a slightly larger footprint than standard M mount glass, its clinical sharpness, flawless micro contrast, and legendary rendering far outweigh any negatives of its size.

This diverse collection of images highlights just how practical and reliable it is in any shooting scenario. Simply put, the performance of this lens is Amazing !

Project - Yes. This is Portland.
JT
Portland is or was a unique and interesting place to visit. It was always fun walking through downtown at lunch time and snapping pictures. Capturing the good and the sad of what was once a thriving downtown drawing all sorts of people and businesses. However, sadly over the past few years with the local politicians neglecting their civic duties and law enforcement having their hands tied for the sake of political points, the town has fallen into a state of degeneration with record crime, homelessness, drugs, gangs and just about anything that says "stay away".

You hear a lot about San Francisco and Los Angeles. But don't forget about it's neighboring state just up north. It will be a long time before Portland recovers if it even does. People are moving out, businesses are closing shop, lawsuits against local govt is becoming more common as businesses are impacted because of policies and inaction by the governing bodies of Portland. I for one, moved out two years ago and don't regret the move. Lets just hope they Portland gets its act together.

However, there are many friedly Portlanders still around as shown in this Project.
