If you are interested about the "pictorialism" I recommend taking a look at the works of: Peter Henry Emerson (1856/1936) Henry Peach Robinson (1830/1901) They are two Britons of the first real pioneers of "pictorialism in photography" The photograph has been hand painted long. Now you can paint with software, but the hand of man and the imagination must continue directing the process, always.
