Some years ago I went to the National Arboretum War Memorial with all my 'Veterans' gear' on for the 50th Anniversary of National Service in the UK-- nobody worried that I was a short-term REGULAR Soldier' in the RAMC so I marched with everyone and was presented with my 'Veterans' badge' by an RAF Chief Vice-Marshall ( whom I saluted very smartly!)
