I'm quite delighted with your comment, and you've used good humor to express your view. You and I approach photography very differently (obviously), and this site is a good place to exchange a variety of styles. One point I might argue is whether or not the camera is insignificant to the image - you are right that it doesn't need to be a Leica, but I much prefer cameras that are high quality, giving good contrast, color, and clarity - the original image from the camera becomes the palette on which I do my work, and it is considerably better to start with a good image than a poor one.
