This photo was taken 2 days ago. Unfortunately, yesterday a large truck caught fire while crossing the bridge. No one was hurt, however, both eastbound lanes (upper & lower) were completely shut down which meant that traffic was literally at a standstill. It took 20 to 30 minutes to drive ONE BLOCK. Imagine! As I am only a short distance from the bridge it was scary at first until we knew all the facts, then was subjected to endless honking of horns for many hours.
They have opened one of the eastbound lanes today. We have peace again.
