I must clarify my statement: The M Leicas are of course superb and their lenses second to none. I can testify to that in my case. But that does not deminish our admiration for the image quality that can be achieved with the D-lux 4.

I totally agree with you. The Leica D-lux 4 is an amazing camera. The main reason I own an upper model is for obtaining blurred backgrounds in some cases. One just has to look at your superlative images to realise how good the D-lux 4 really is!
