Thanks for your comment, Doug. It is truly one image, with BW processing only. Blackhouses were traditional dwellings in Scotland, and had no chimneys. The fires were made of peat, which produces a much nicer smoke than wood. This particular house is at the Blackhouse Museum, on the Isle of Lewis.

Amazing light atmosphere and angles... and amazing that the cookfire is uncontained in the middle of the room, no chimney?? Seems so unlikely as to make me wonder if it's more than one image merged into one...
