Voigtlander 50mm f/1.2 II on M11: Clinical Sharpness meets Rangefinder Soul

There’s been a lot of talk about the new Voigtlander 50mm f/1.2 Nokton II, but I wanted to see how it handled the high resolution sensor of the Leica M11 in a 100% manual workflow.

Unlike the dedicated Monochrom experience, I’ve been using the M11 to dial in specific B&W looks in post-processing, and the rendering from this lens at f/1.2 is nothing short of awesome. It manages to deliver that modern classic  duality, surgical precision on the eyes with a buttery fall off.

I’ve just uploaded a review featuring candid portraits and street shots that push this lens to its limits.
